Privacy Policy

This notice explains how SEO S.R.L. handles personal data on Bike Hire Italy. Bike shops listed on the site: see the notice for bike shops (English and Italian).

1. Who we are

The data controller is SEO S.R.L., Via Roma 163, 73021 Calimera (LE), Italy, VAT no. and tax code 05151910758, REA LE-345763. Email: info@bikehireitaly.com. Bike Hire Italy (bikehireitaly.com) is a free directory that helps travellers find bike rental shops in Italy. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

2. Data we collect

• Rental requests: your name, email address, phone number, the message you write, and the dates and bike details you choose.
• Account data, if you create an account: email address, name and login details.
• Technical data: strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and the site working, plus basic server logs (IP address, browser, date and time) for security.

3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

• To forward your rental request to the bike shop you chose, so that the shop can reply to you (contract or pre-contractual steps, art. 6.1.b GDPR).
• To create and manage your account (art. 6.1.b).
• To send you service emails about your request, such as confirmations and replies (art. 6.1.b).
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and handle disputes (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f).
• To comply with legal obligations (art. 6.1.c).

Bike Hire Italy is an information service: we do not take bookings or payments online. The rental agreement is made directly between you and the shop. Once the shop receives your request it becomes an independent controller of the data you sent it. We do not sell your data and do not use it for third-party marketing.

4. Who receives your data

• The bike shop you chose, to answer your request.
• Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase (hosting, database and authentication), with servers in the European Union.
• Resend (sending of service emails), servers in Ireland.
• Advisers who assist us and are bound by confidentiality.

These providers act as processors under art. 28 GDPR. If any data is processed outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

5. Cookies

We only use technical cookies and local storage needed to run the site and keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or profiling cookies, so no cookie banner is required.

6. How long we keep your data

• Rental requests and related messages: up to 24 months from the request.
• Account data: until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days.
• Security logs: up to 12 months.
• Data we must keep by law or to defend a right: for the period required by law.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format (arts. 15-21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent given at any time. Write to info@bikehireitaly.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with your local authority.

8. Changes

We may update this notice. The current version is always the one published at bikehireitaly.com/privacy, with the date of the last update at the top.

Notice for bike shops listed on Bike Hire Italy

Information under articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) for bike shops and bike rental businesses listed on Bike Hire Italy. Italian version below.

1. Data controller

2. Who this notice is for

Bike shops and bike rental businesses whose listing is published on Bike Hire Italy, whether the listing was created by us from public sources or created or confirmed by the shop itself.

3. Data we process

• Identification and business data: shop name or company name and, for sole traders, the owner's name; address of the premises; business phone number and email; category; website; VAT number where public.
• Data provided by the shop when confirming or editing the listing: opening hours, bikes and services offered, description, photos or logo, contact details for receiving requests.
• Technical data generated by using the portal: date and time of confirmation, IP address, information on sending and receiving emails (delivery, opens, clicks), log of edit or removal requests.

We do not process special categories of data (art. 9 GDPR) of shops.

4. Where the data comes from (art. 14)

When the listing was not created by the shop, the data comes from publicly accessible sources:

• online business directories (for example PagineGialle);
• the shops' official websites;
• public listings on online map services.

We only collect business data that is already public in these sources.

5. Purposes and legal basis

• Publishing the listing in the directory so that travellers can find a bike shop in the area: legitimate interest of the controller and of users in information (art. 6.1.f), balanced by the fact that the data is business-related and already public and that the shop can object at any time.
• Sending the shop an informational message about its listing, with this notice and an invitation to confirm, correct or remove it (one email and possibly one reminder): legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f) and the duty to inform the data subject (art. 14).
• Managing listing confirmation, the shop's account and forwarding of travellers' requests: pre-contractual measures and performance of the service contract with the shop (art. 6.1.b).
• Promotional communications or newsletters about portal services: consent (art. 6.1.a), which can be withdrawn at any time.
• Complying with legal obligations, handling disputes and preventing abuse: legal obligation (art. 6.1.c) and legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f).

We do not sell the data and do not pass it to third parties for marketing.

6. Emails to shops

A shop receives at most one informational email and one reminder. Each email contains a link to confirm, correct or remove the listing without registering, and a way to object by replying "remove". A shop that asks for removal receives no further communications. Replying to the email to ask us to create or complete the listing counts as acknowledgement of this notice and authorisation to publish the data given in the reply.

7. Who can access the data

The data is processed by the controller's staff and by providers appointed as processors (art. 28): Lovable Cloud / Supabase (hosting, database, authentication; servers in the EU), Resend (email sending; Ireland), Google (aggregated statistics and mailboxes), and advisers bound by confidentiality. An up-to-date list is available on request at info@bikehireitaly.com.

8. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers may process data in the United States. In that case the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Retention

• Listing data: for as long as the listing is published. On removal the data is deleted; we only keep a non-reversible hash of email and phone so that the listing is not added again.
• Log of emails sent and of edit or removal requests: 24 months.
• Shop account data: while the account is active, then deleted within 30 days.
• Data needed for legal obligations or to defend a right: for the period required by law.

10. Your rights

• access, rectification and erasure (arts. 15-17);
• restriction and portability (arts. 18 and 20);
• objection (art. 21): the listing is removed without you having to give a reason;
• withdrawal of consent given for promotional communications;
• complaint to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

To exercise them, use the link in the email you received, the listing management page on the portal, or write to info@bikehireitaly.com. We reply within 30 days; removal requests are normally carried out within 24 working hours.

11. Publication of contact details

A shop's direct contact details are shown in the listing only if they are already public in the source they come from or if the shop chose to show them after confirmation. Travellers' requests go through the portal's forms.

12. Changes

This notice may be updated. The current version is always the one published at bikehireitaly.com/privacy, with the date of the last update at the top.

Informativa ai sensi degli articoli 13 e 14 del Regolamento (UE) 2016/679 (GDPR) per negozi e noleggi di biciclette presenti su Bike Hire Italy. Ultimo aggiornamento: 17 ottobre 2026.

1. Titolare del trattamento

2. A chi si rivolge questa informativa

A negozi e noleggi di biciclette la cui scheda è pubblicata su Bike Hire Italy, sia quando la scheda è stata creata da noi a partire da fonti pubbliche, sia quando è stata creata o confermata dal negozio stesso.

3. Quali dati trattiamo

• Dati identificativi e professionali: denominazione o ragione sociale (e, per le ditte individuali, nome e cognome del titolare), indirizzo della sede, telefono ed email professionali, categoria, sito web, eventuale P.IVA se pubblica.
• Dati forniti dal negozio in fase di conferma o modifica della scheda: orari, biciclette e servizi offerti, descrizione, foto o logo, recapiti per ricevere le richieste.
• Dati tecnici generati dall'uso del portale: data e ora della conferma, indirizzo IP e informazioni sull'invio e la ricezione delle email (consegna, apertura, click), registro delle richieste di modifica o rimozione.

Non trattiamo categorie particolari di dati (art. 9 GDPR) dei negozi.

4. Da dove provengono i dati (art. 14)

Quando la scheda non è stata creata dal negozio, i dati provengono da fonti accessibili al pubblico:

• elenchi e directory online di attività commerciali (ad esempio PagineGialle);
• siti web ufficiali dei negozi;
• schede pubbliche su servizi di mappe online.

Raccogliamo solo i dati professionali già resi pubblici in queste fonti.

5. Perché trattiamo i dati e su quale base giuridica

• Pubblicare la scheda nella directory, per permettere ai viaggiatori di trovare un negozio di noleggio nella zona: legittimo interesse del titolare e degli utenti all'informazione (art. 6.1.f), bilanciato dal fatto che i dati sono professionali e già pubblici e che il negozio può opporsi in ogni momento.
• Inviare al negozio una comunicazione informativa sulla presenza della sua scheda, con questa informativa e l'invito a confermarla, correggerla o rimuoverla (un invio ed eventualmente un promemoria): legittimo interesse (art. 6.1.f) e obbligo di informare l'interessato (art. 14).
• Gestire la conferma della scheda, l'account del negozio e l'inoltro delle richieste dei viaggiatori: esecuzione di misure precontrattuali e del contratto di servizio con il negozio (art. 6.1.b).
• Inviare comunicazioni promozionali o newsletter su servizi del portale: consenso (art. 6.1.a), revocabile in ogni momento.
• Adempiere a obblighi di legge, gestire contestazioni, prevenire abusi: obbligo legale (art. 6.1.c) e legittimo interesse (art. 6.1.f).

Non vendiamo i dati e non li cediamo a terzi per finalità di marketing.

6. Comunicazioni via email ai negozi

Il negozio riceve al massimo una email informativa e un promemoria. Ogni email contiene un link per confermare, correggere o rimuovere la scheda senza bisogno di registrarsi, e l'indicazione per opporsi rispondendo "rimuovi". Chi chiede la rimozione non riceve altre comunicazioni. Rispondere all'email per chiederci di creare o completare la scheda vale come presa visione di questa informativa e come autorizzazione a pubblicare i dati indicati nella risposta.

7. Chi può accedere ai dati

I dati sono trattati dal personale del titolare e da fornitori nominati responsabili del trattamento (art. 28): Lovable Cloud / Supabase (hosting, database e autenticazione, server nell'Unione Europea), Resend (invio email, Irlanda), Google (statistiche in forma aggregata e caselle di posta), consulenti vincolati alla riservatezza. L'elenco aggiornato è disponibile scrivendo a info@bikehireitaly.com.

8. Trasferimenti fuori dall'Unione Europea

Alcuni fornitori possono trattare dati negli Stati Uniti. In questi casi il trasferimento avviene sulla base delle clausole contrattuali standard approvate dalla Commissione Europea o di una decisione di adeguatezza.

9. Per quanto tempo conserviamo i dati

• Dati della scheda: finché la scheda resta pubblicata. Alla rimozione i dati vengono cancellati; conserviamo solo un'impronta non reversibile (hash) di email e telefono per non reinserire la scheda in futuro.
• Registro delle comunicazioni inviate e delle richieste di modifica o rimozione: 24 mesi.
• Dati dell'account del negozio: finché l'account resta attivo, poi cancellati entro 30 giorni.
• Dati necessari per obblighi di legge o per difendere un diritto: per il tempo previsto dalla legge.

10. I diritti del negozio

• accedere ai dati, chiederne la rettifica o la cancellazione (artt. 15-17);
• chiedere la limitazione del trattamento e la portabilità (artt. 18 e 20);
• opporsi al trattamento (art. 21): la scheda viene rimossa senza bisogno di motivare la richiesta;
• revocare il consenso dato per comunicazioni promozionali;
• proporre reclamo al Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

Come esercitarli: dal link presente nell'email ricevuta, dalla pagina di gestione della scheda sul portale, oppure scrivendo a info@bikehireitaly.com. Rispondiamo entro 30 giorni; le richieste di rimozione vengono eseguite di norma entro 24 ore lavorative.

11. Pubblicazione dei recapiti

I recapiti diretti del negozio sono mostrati nella scheda solo se già pubblici nella fonte da cui provengono oppure se il negozio ha scelto di mostrarli dopo la conferma. Le richieste dei viaggiatori passano attraverso i moduli del portale.

12. Modifiche

Questa informativa può essere aggiornata. La versione in vigore è sempre quella pubblicata su bikehireitaly.com/privacy, con la data di ultimo aggiornamento in alto.
